Experience Opulent Dubai Hotels

admin January 16th, 2012

For a Christmas to remember holidaymakers should take a trip to Dubai. The Arabian city is sunny all year round so is a welcome break for northern Europeans leaving the cold for some winter sunshine. Temperatures in December and January are in the twenties so visitors can leave their winter coats at home and start the journey to their Dubai hotels with a suitcase full of summer clothing. In the last 20 years the grand city has risen from the desert to become one of the world’s premier holiday destinations, full of modern glass skyscrapers and traditional ornate mosques.
Holidaymakers may not have the benefit of the usual Christmas turkey and romantic snowy landscape but will be able to spend Christmas soaking up the sun and eating traditional food in Dubai’s Shawarma Diners. The city has become well known as a modern symbol of the transformative power of capitalism and has some audacious sites to prove it. The Burj Dubai, now the world’s tallest building has excellent views out over the city to the sea and across the desert. Holidaymakers can also visit the man made islands off of the beach such as the World and the Palm, home to the rich and famous who bought into Dubai’s property boom.
In December visitors have a great opportunity to partake in the hedonistic materialism of Dubai during the Dubai Shopping festival which lasts up until February. There are sales and shows throughout the time of the festival and visitors can visit the 1000 plus shops in the giant mall of Arabia, the largest shopping mall in the world. Away from the malls, hotels and island oases holidaymakers can take Jeep safaris into the desert. During a safari visitors can go and buy small gifts from the Bedouin people who have lived in the desert for centuries. Safaris will often also include sandboarding and a camel ride depending on the package. Most first time visitors to Dubai are impressed by the standard of hotels. Due to the city’s recent rise as a tourist destination most of its hotels are as modern as any of the newest hotels in the traditional Mediterranean resorts. The four-star Coral Oriental is a very reasonably priced modern hotel with excellent interiors and all of the best amenities that can be expected. The Coral Oriental is close to the sea front and near to the Grand mosque and the Dubai museum. For holidaymakers wanting the real Dubai experience a stay at the Burj al Arab is recommended. The five-star hotel is one of the most recognisable buildings in the city and even has its own helipad. being one of the most opulent Dubai hotels it is no surprise that the Burj has everything holidaymakers could hope for including an air conditioned fitness centre and massage facilities for relaxation after a workout.
